Youth Strategy Project - Data Center
The Youth Strategy Project provides strategic research, consultation, and training for social, economic
and environmental justice organizations. It is tailored to build the research and analytical skills of the next
generation of movement leaders.
Literacy for Environmental Justice
Literacy for Environmental Justice (LEJ) is an urban environmental education and youth empowerment organization
created specifically to address the unique ecological and social concerns of Bayview Hunters Point, San Francisco,
and the surrounding communities of Mission, Potrero Hill, Visitacion Valley, and Excelsior.
The Freechild Project
The Freechild Project provides tools and training to young people and adults that engage children and youth in social change. Freechild has been working for almost eight years to promote the idea that when engaged in meaningful ways throughout society, the knowledge, action and wisdom of children and youth can make the world more democratic, more non-violent and more engaging for everyone.
The Youth Action Research Institute (YARI) of the Institute for Community Research
YARI was formed in 1996 based on nearly a decade of work on youth-led action research for development, risk prevention,
and social change. YARI promotes the use of action research for personal, group, and community development. Participants
include children, preadolescents, and youth of diverse ethnic backgrounds as well as sexual minority youth.
Youth Action Research Group
The Youth Action Research Group (YARG) involves community residents in defining, researching and critically
analyzing the challenges facing their neighborhoods. The young people in YARG learn participatory action research methods
and ethnographic techniques to better understand their surrounding community for the purpose of addressing pressing
social issues.

Evaluation Tools for Racial Equity
Evaluation Tools for Racial Equity is a project of Center for
Assessment and Policy Development. The Evaluation Tools for Racial
Equity website is organized around the typical stages that a community
group or coalition working on racial justice issues might go through in
planning, conducting, and using evaluation.
